Gently step into relationship when the moment allows it, without forcing contact.
The Exercise
Use this deck only when a moment already feels shared. Choose the stage that matches the moment, then read one card as an invitation. Contact is optional; a smile, silence, or no encounter at all can be enough.

Why
Meet helps you recognise an encounter that may already be beginning. It does not turn conversation into an achievement.
How
Begin with Readiness, unless an encounter is already further along. Move towards Opening, Being Together, and Leaving Well only as the moment itself unfolds. Let the other person’s response, pace, and freedom shape what happens next, and stop at any time.
Ways to use it
You can read these cards beforehand as preparation. Their real use begins only in a shared moment, and even then speaking is optional. The other person is never part of a task they did not choose.
Preparation
Do not hunt for a target or a result. Stay available, and let the day offer a moment or not.
Background
The Unexpected Encounter, another creative companion acknowledged by the book, helped inspire the emphasis on presence, simple openings, and the other person’s freedom.
Where is the moment now?
The stages describe a rhythm, not a ladder. Start where the encounter is and stop whenever the moment closes.
Smile first. Words can wait.
